HipHop Ball Berlin Returns for Its Second Edition – KISS FM Announced as Presenting Partner

Urban culture, media power, and cultural diversity come together at Berlin’s Red Town Hall

Graffiti and chandeliers, rap and classical music, sneakers and tuxedos – the best of two worlds.Following its successful premiere in 2025, the HipHop Ball returns to Berlin, setting a bold tone with its second edition and reinforcing the continued evolution of urban culture within institutional spaces. On November 14, the Red Town Hall will once again transform into a stage where classical tradition meets hip-hop energy – supported by a strong network spanning culture, media, business, and the wider urban community.

A key element of this evolution is the new presenting partnership with KISS FM, one of Germany’s most influential urban media platforms. Since its founding in 1993, KISS FM has positioned itself as the “Home of HipHop & R’n’B,” consistently addressing a young, urban audience. Through this partnership, the HipHop Ball is not only expanded, but also reinterpreted both culturally and editorially through the lens of a platform deeply embedded in Berlin’s urban scene.

A Cross-Culture Happening Reflecting Contemporary Culture

The HipHop Ball represents a new form of cultural encounter, a space in which seemingly contrasting worlds do not simply coexist, but engage in a high-level artistic dialogue. Across four magnificent ballrooms, urban street art meets classical ballroom tradition, creating a safe and expressive environment that extends far beyond aesthetics and speaks directly to societal relevance.

Art is not presented in a singular format, but experienced across multiple dimensions: through DJ sets, the physical language of dance, the visual impact of graffiti, and an opening ceremony designed as a deliberate act of cultural translation.

In its second edition, the HipHop Ball continues this multidimensional approach, bringing together around 100 artists from music, dance, visual arts, and live performance. The evening begins with an opening address by the founder alongside the charity partners, leading into the “Urban Waltz” an orchestral reinterpretation that bridges classical composition and hiphop expression. This is followed by the Chain of Glory, honoring individuals who have shaped the cultural landscape.

Curated performance highlights build the narrative arc of the evening, culminating in the midnight performance as its emotional peak. The traditional closing dance completes the circle of a night oscillating between movement and meaning – complemented by a charity raffle and live performances that musically travel through different eras of hip-hop culture.

Yet what defines the HipHop Ball just as much is what cannot be planned: new entertainment formats, spontaneous moments, and unexpected artistic interventions that continuously redefine the experience, turning the event into a living, evolving cultural platform.

A City United by a Shared Vision

What sustains this evening is more than a program. It is a network that actively advances the mission behind the HipHop Ball. Alongside KISS FM as presenting partner, a diverse alliance of media, brands, and cultural institutions supports the format.

The Berlin Senate further underscores this development, with Kai Wegner once again assuming patronage, a clear signal of the cultural relevance the HipHop Ball has already achieved within the city.

The partner network spans across multiple sectors of urban life: from Berliner Morgenpost and HYGH as media voices of the capital, to rentitNOW and Madame Tussauds Berlin, as well as the Pan Am Lounge, Red Bull, and Treehouse Berlin. Each of these partners represents distinct cultural narratives, contributing to a format that is no longer just an event, but a platform.

This ecosystem is further enriched by the charity partners LifeTeachUs, Stiftung Bildung, and sPeranto. Their involvement anchors the event not only within cultural discourse but also within broader conversations around access, education, and social participation, highlighting that urban culture is more than expression; it is a tool for opening spaces.

An Evening Full of Surprises

The HipHop Ball is not conceived as a static event, but as a dynamic platform. Alongside its established program elements, guests can expect a wide range of surprising stagings, interactive formats, and artistic interventions that make each edition a unique experience.

About the HipHop Ball

Originally launched in Vienna in 2016, where it remains a fixed highlight of the cultural calendar, the HipHop Ball successfully expanded to Berlin in 2025.
