For many, sneakers are fashion. For Julia, also known as SneakerQueen, they are history, identity, and a global network. As a collector, curator, and community builder, she has been deeply rooted in the scene for years and will be honored for her commitment at the HipHop Ball in Berlin.

Between Sole and Soul
Julia blends aesthetics with analysis, streetwear with storytelling. Her passion for sneakers began early, but they only became a true symbol through what followed: “I don’t know if my first sneaker was that important – it was a green Converse Pro Leather made of hairy suede. But the ones that came after changed my world.” With every pair, not only did her collection grow, but also her community. Over the years, Julia built an international network of like-minded people, which she fondly calls her “Sneaker family.” “I invest every vacation to meet people from the scene all over the world. This passion connects, no matter where you’re from.

Curator, Collector, Cultural Mediator
Julia is more than just a lover of rare models. She is a cultural mediator with a sharp eye for design, history, and social context. What makes a sneaker iconic? “For me, it needs history, sociocultural meaning, and emotion. Ideally, all three.” The scene has changed, including in Berlin: “Back then, we met in real life. Now a lot happens digitally. But nerds stay nerds – and nerds are usually very kind people.” For her, know-how matters more than gender: “I was usually welcomed with open arms – and if not, I have no problem flexing.

A Billboard in Jakarta
One of her most surprising moments? “When I ended up on a giant billboard in Jakarta. I had organized an exhibition there with a local Adidas crew, and suddenly my face was 15 meters high on the highway. That was… crazy.” Even in her sneaker choices, Julia is guided by emotions: “If a model makes my heart skip a beat, it goes into the collection. Simple as that.

Streetwear with Etiquette
At the HipHop Ball Berlin, Julia will be officially honored. A moment that fills her with pride: “I’m super excited about the event. It brings street culture and classical culture together. For me, that’s like the auditory equivalent of my work.” What will she wear that evening? “That remains a surprise – but it will be a sneaker with history and a statement.
Her advice to young collectors: “Listen to your heart. Invest genuinely in what truly interests you. Don’t do things halfway.

Etiquette Meets Attitude
That’s how Julia describes the HipHop Ball in three words – and it’s exactly this mix that makes the evening so special. Classical form meets urban substance. And right in the middle: a SneakerQueen, building bridges with heart, knowledge, and style. We are proud to honor her as part of the Chain of Glory.
